When most people talk about website marketing they focus on getting more traffic or higher search engine rankings. It makes sense to me to ensure my website is converting before sending lots of traffic to it. That way your results will be dramatically improved when traffic is created.

With social media buzzwords flying around constantly now it’s important to remember what it’s all about. There are now many tools for communicating with potential prospects… and other useless ones as well. But at the end of the day it’s about creating a relationship.
It doesn’t matter how the relationship is built, whether it’s email, Twitter, Facebook or YouTube… or believe it or not through mail, newspapers, fax or phone. No matter what it’s still about the relationship and the value you provide. In my opinion you should be using a wide variety of these media to connect with your prospects and clients.
What is the real objective of your website?
There is no best answer… there is no almighty social media property that you should base your business around. That’s like having a store but not getting a phone. Smart business owners realize a phone is a great tool to supplement their business and it’s the same with social media.
The moral of the story is to focus on building a relationship with visitors irrespective of the media. By creating a valuable relationship your sales will rise almost without effort. Because people prefer to purchase from those they know and trust.
Just do this stuff
Take a long hard look at your website and decide whether your focus is on the relationship or on yourself. What valuable information are you offering? Do you collect contact details to send them more information?
Building a relationship isn’t really difficult… just imagine what you’d do if the person was right in front of you and go from your gut. And get ready for some amazing results.
